Four Hybrids, a cross between product and sculpture, embody everyday objects that call for a non-verbal dialogue by destabilisation.
Source of inspiration is the Covid-19 pandemic. The outbreak in western societies meant for most of the people a hold-up on every day life and a return into their homes as a safe place.
Having lost their original function the everyday objects transformed into metaphors. The table is lopsided, the shelf is displaced. The wardrobe needs counterweight and burning candles are out of balance.
The created sculptures encourage the viewer for a real examination of the object and invite to rethink and reflect comfort zones. Destabilisation is used as a visual statement and feature to put human behaviour back in charge.
Stabilisation on the other hand is the key experience between human and product- sculpture.
